| He graduated from the Semmelweis University of Medicine in Budapest in 1954 and joined the staff of its Institute of Physiology in 1959. He received research grants to attend Western universities several times in the 1960s and 1970s. In 1974, he was appointed a full professor. He became secretary of the League of Working Youth (DISZ) at the university in 1955 and a member of the communist party in 1956. He is an organizer of several social foundations and prizes. | ||
